Tutorial~ Makeup Brush Cleansing

Heyhey girlies! How was your day? I'm at home all ready to blog and I have a VERY important post for all you makeup collectors out there! We all love putting on makeup and giving ourselves that extra little boost, but we want our skin to feel good! I think I hear your skin crying! Have you been washing your brushes lately? Germs and bacteria build up in those things faster than skyscrapers in New York City! You need to make a brush cleaning schedule; wash your eye brushes every week and face brushes every 1-2 weeks. Your skill will be thanking you!

What you'll need:

1. Some dirty makeup brushes! You'll need to give them a good wash if you've been changing colors with your brushes, been using them for over a week, or there's too much product in your brush.

Summer Face Routine!

Heyhey girlies! How are you this fine summer day? Sorry southern hemisphere :( As the heat is steaming up, I find my makeup melting off my face! I'm not one of those girls who wears makeup in the pool, but I do enhance my features and matten my face because it gets SUPER oily in the summer. You could probably fry an egg on my forehead! It is NOT pleasant!

My summer face routine is very simple, and natural, I just enhance my cheekbones, eyes and conceal  some circles and zits! That's it!

Step 1: First, I take a little drop, just slightly bigger than the size of a pin head usually. The majority if used for my under-eyes, and the rest I use on the imperfections of my face. To blend it all out, I use this fluffy brush from Ecotools. It is an eye blending brush, but I find this is a much more efficient use for the summer! It's from the $10 travel brush kit, and I got it on a BOGO free! It's a bargain little duo and they work like a dream! It feels super lightweight and is heavy duty! Plus the blending press won't force excess makeup on your skin so it doesn't settle in fine lines!

The rest awaits you!

Travel Tips Thursday ~ Makeup Essentials for the Beach

Happy Thursday everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!  My day was full of eating, swimming, walking the dog, and just spending time with some family and friends.  The house I visited happened to be right across the beach so we all had a great time in the water and relaxing in the sun.  Although I don't like wearing too much makeup when I go to the beach, there are some essentials that I always take.

WorkoutWednesday~ I'm Getting Naked!

Hello my lovelies!! I hope you girlies had the loveliest FOURTH OF JULY!! Cue the fireworks!! More importantly... it's WorkoutWednesday!! All hail those flat tummies and toned legs! I'm still working on getting that perfect bikini body!! Oh how I envy those girls with abs and stick thin legs! If only, if only... anyways, I've been working out... doing some cardio, some ab exercises, some arm and leg excercises... but half the hike is what you eat!

I eat a healthy diet, more or less, I can't resist the occasional Lindt truffle! (shhhh!), but to supplement myself with my vitamins and fruits and veggies, I've been adding Naked juice into the mix. I know it's expensive, but it's definitely worth it! I drink this instead of other vitamin supplements because it's more natural and all in all, better for the body!

Mighty Mango is hands down my FAVORITE flavor, and I believe I have tried almost all of them! The thing I love about these is that the mango taste still pops... so the name isn't deceiving... but there's still more fruit!

Eve's Lookbook~ Affordable Fourth of July Outfits

Hello everyone! How are you this FABULOUS third of july.... in T- minus 5 hours... depending on when this post goes up, it will be the 4th of July!! WOOTWOOT I have to say, this is one of my favorite holidays! Not only do I get to eat nonstop for 24 hours at my family barbecue, I can also go to my friends' barbecues and have some tasting too. Let's just say I'm a food enthusiast. I'm definitely going to be running around, sitting on the grass, eating LOTS of food and watching fireworks!

My two outfits, although very similar, a basic tank top and shorts, meet my list of requirements. They're easy to move around in and the top stretches so if I eat a little too much, I won't be suffocating. I might even have to loosen up the belt too! ...woops

My first outfit is a little understated, but still screams 4th of July. Instead of doing blue or white shorts, I chose an acid washed pair to bring in some white and blue while still not screaming LOOK I'M AN AMERICAN FLAG! The red tank is basic and comfortable and the necklace gives it a nautical edge. To cuten up the outfit I added a denim headband with a bow! Almost house on the prairie like! SO CUTE!
Headband: Claire's
Tank top: WetSeal
Belt: American Eagle
Shorts: Delia's

Kaylie's Lookbook ~ 4th of July

Hey everyone!!

I'm super excited for tomorrow because it's the 4th of July!  For all of you readers that live in the states, tomorrow is one of the best times of the summer.  It's a great way to wind down and enjoy a nice barbecue and fireworks with family and friends to welcome the summer.  I love dressing for the occasion, and the 4th of July is one of the most fun to coordinate your outfit for.  Since the holiday lands in the peak time of the summer, dressing smart is essential for comfort.  I love to wear breathable clothing without much jewelry since outdoor activities can become really sweaty outside.  Also, it is essential that the clothing be easy to run around in since there are always water fights and volleyball matches nearby.

Outfit #1

I love this outfit for a more fancy event, although it can easily be worn to casual outings too.  It is super cute and trend, as well as easy to wear since it doesn't involve many components.

Nail Tutorial ~ Jelly Sandwiches

Dear American Apparel,

OMG I cannot thank you enough for releasing the new "Sheer" nail polish collection for the summer.  You have seriously made my whole summer because of these wonderful new nail polishes.  I was on the market for a jelly polish that I could layer glitter in between and now I think I have found my new love.  Not only does your polish have the perfect amount of sheerness to it so that the glitter can peak through, the pigmentation is also just out of this world.  I can't wait to go back to the Mall and purchase more so I can do some ombre nails next.

Lots of love,
Kaylie

Hey girls!

Haha today I have a super fun nail tutorial to share with you guys.  A jelly nail sandwich is dare I say it, even yummier than the real thing.  This is a super simple look that just involves sandwiching a layer of glitter in between two coats of polish.  It gives a cool 3-D look to the glitter, as if it's floating in the polish.  This look cannot be achieved with any old polish.  It takes a polish of a sheer and jelly nature to make it successful.

I have been waiting forever to be able to test out this look since I've been having a hard time finding the right jelly polish for a reasonable price.  There are some scattered Essie's that I know have a sheer finish, but I find it hard to make myself purchase them for $8 each.  I have heard that Revlon's "Sheer Seafoam" is a jelly-like polish but it lacks the serious pigmentation I want in a polish.  When I thought all hopes were lost, I found myself wandering American Apparel to just browse and my eyes instantly met the new "Sheer" polishes.  I didn't believe it was possible, and yet there it was.  I used the tester and absolutely fell in love with the finish and immediately thought of some jelly nail sandwiches!  Without blinking an eye I picked up a super pretty coral color for only $5 called "Manhattan Beach" just to try and now that I'm completely in love, I'll definitely be going back to pick up her sisters.  Sigh...  it is possible to be so in love with an inanimate object?
