Nail Tutorial ~ Perfect French Mani

Hey girls!

Today I wanted to show you guys a quick tutorial on how I love to create a super easy french manicure.  This look is one of my all-time favorites because it can be literally be worn with anything from casual to dressy.  It's a nice change from super bold colors, yet still looks chic and different.  I used to use tape, but it gave be these boxy french nails that didn't look amazing.  After much testing, I found this great solution that everyone has in their home that really makes your french mani pop!

I chose band-aids because they are sticky like tape but have a rounded top so that the white portion of the manicure is rounded.  It made the process so super quick and extremely easy!  The greatest piece of advice I have though is make sure it FULLY dries.  If it's not rock solid yet, I would not stick the band-aid on or else you will end up with a gloppy mess.

Let's get started!

You will need:

A beige/light pink/nude nail polish
Wet n Wild  Sugarcoat

A white/cream polish
Sally Hansen Mousselline

Your favorite topcoat
Essie Good to Go!

Band-Aids!
(Preferably the smooth, not cloth ones)

Step 1:

Paint the light pink color on your nails.  Use as many coats as needed for a fully opaque look.  Mine took 3-4 coats.  Wait until it completely dries.  This is the MOST important step because even if it feels slightly dry, it still might be sticky and will create a mess after taking off the band-aid.  I had to wait 30 minutes, but if you have a fan it might quicken up the waiting time.

Step 2:
Peel off the band-aid and stick it so that it covers a good portion of the nail, but not the tip.  Adjust according to how thick you want the whites of your nails to be.

Step 3:

Take your white polish and paint an opaque coat on the exposed part of the nail.  It's okay if some gets on the tape--that's what it's for!

Step 4:

Peel away the band-aid going away from the nail after the white polish dries.

You're finished!

I hope you guys enjoyed this easy tutorial.  I can totally see this at a family dinner or even for the first day of school!  I really love this look to add a girly touch to jeans, but it also looks amazing with a dress or skirt.  What are your favorite ways to create an easy french mani?  Leave a comment down below!
