DIY ~ Sea Salt Spray

Happy friday girls!

Today I have a fun DIY for you guys to try out.  I absolutely LOVE beachy waves for a casual, care-free look in the summer.  I don't like to use heat too often on my hair so this spray is perfect for me because it locks in the texture without any hot tools needed.

Keep reading to find out how to make this!

You will need:

An empty spray bottle
Mine is from an old "Art Stuff" Bath and Body Works Collection!  Does anyone remember this?  Haha

Regular table salt  (Not kosher)

Hair gel
Mine is Herbal Essences Hair scrunching gel but any gel will do.  This one cost me only $3.

Water

Step 1:
Pour about 3-4 tablespoons of gel into the spray bottle.

Step 2:

Pour about 2-3 tablespoons of salt so that there is just a little less salt than gel.

Step 3:

Fill up the rest of the bottle with water and mix it up.  The salt should be totally dissolved and the gel shouldn't be stuck on the bottom.

You're finished!

That's all there is to it.  It's super simple and much more affordable than going out and buying a $20-30 sea salt spray.  I spray this onto small sections of hair and then twist/scrunch it to create an easy, beachy texture.  This hairstyle would look great on a casual shopping or a fun party.

I hope you girls enjoyed this simple DIY!  Are you into beachy hair?  What are your favorite ways to create this cute style?  Leave a comment down below!

  2. Would this work on my hair if it is very hard to curl hair? I have like super straight hair and it does not curl easily. By the way great post!

    1. I have super hard to curl hair too and this works perfectly! To make sure you get super nice curls, you can tie them up with the spray for a few minutes to lock in the waves. Also, you can hold it with a good hairspray!
