Hey girlies! How are we all doing today? I decided to try out some color blocking on my nails! I've seen it on youtube and on celebrities already, but I've never had the chance to test it out myself, and must I say I'm OBSESSED! I prefer this over paint 3 nails one color and the other 2 another because I think that just gets confusing... but that might just be me. I love the look of the pink and red because in some lights it can look all red or all pink because of the close contrast. Also, the work the twice as many outfits!
Wet n Wild 429D Dreamy Poppy and 414 Red Red
All you'll need is 2 nail polishes and 10 pieces of tape!
Let's get started!
Step 1: Paint one of the colors as your base coat. I recommend using the lighter one so the dark one will show up on top. Or use whichever polish is the post pigmented. In this case, I used Wet n Wild Dreamy Poppy as my base! Wait for the base coat to dry!
Step 2: Take a piece of tape and place it diagonally across each finger from the top of one side to the bottom of the other. Smooth down the edge so there are no bubbles. That will allow you to have a very sharp line separating the two colors. If the base coat isn't dry, the tape will peel off the polish! EEK
Step 3: Paint the dark color, Wet n Wild Red Red, and paint it onto the exposed part of the nail. Paint as many coats as it takes until it's opaque! I love this red because it's opaque in 1 coat and dries in seconds! It's ok if it's not exact because the tape will serve as a guideline! Repeat this to each finger and let it dry.
Lately, when I've been in stores, color blocking was a MAJOR trend. I've seen shirts that have different colors stripes, collars, or even sleeves! I decided to jump on the bandwagon and try out color blocking and I AM IN LOVE. I own dozens of pairs of colored shorts from Marshall's, TJMaxx and Forever 21 and I wear them with all kinds of different shorts plus some of the 2 dollar neon belts from Forever 21!
Are you girls going to try out this trend this summer? It's super cute and classy and the nails are super easy! Save you from a nail disaster today? Leave your rescue story, questions, comments, and requests in the comment section below. Stay beautiful!

I will definitely try this out! Using tape is such a clever idea and obviously a much cheaper alternative to going to the nail salon for a similar look.
