NYC Bound ~ Kaylie's Beauty Haul!

Hi lovelies!

I am super excited to be sharing with you guys my recent purchases from New York City!  We had an AMAZING time  scoping out hot deals and visiting our favorite stores in the city.  Today I have the makeup that I bought while I was there.  Eve and I visited every Duane Reade and CVS we could find as well as made some stops at Sephora and Inglot.  While we didn't find much at Duane Reade and Sephora, I definitely spent my money well at Inglot and CVS.

Inglot

YOLO--Haha:)

One of my most exciting purchases was my very first Inglot palette from the store in NYC.  I used what was called the "Freedom System" to choose the colors I wanted and the palette.  I decided on the duo palette which was $7.00 and then purchased my two shadows for $6.00 each to get the palette for a total of $19.00.  While that may seem a little steep for two shadows, they are amazing quality and I didn't know when I would be back to purchase them.  While I was originally going to get one matte and one lid shadow, I decided on getting two lid shadows since they were too gorgeous to pass up.  They have amazing pigmentation and staying power.  Review to come soon!

NYC Bound~ Food!

Hey girls!

As you guys can tell, we spent the past week in NYC. We had endless amounts of fun and I want to share some of our delicious food with you! Come along!

One of the highlights of our trip was our unexpected detour to Rickshaw's Dumplings cart in Times Square! We were planning on chasing down the Wafels and Dinges truck, but after shopping our way to lunch, we didn't have the energy to walk another 10 blocks. The dumpling cart supplemented us just in time for lunch and we felt less guilty about not getting our dinges! Right in the middle of Times Square was this cute little red truck and what do you know, there was huge line. Judging from the line and the lack of chicken dumplings, there was obviously a high demand. We settled on the duck dumplings and the extra 50 cents were worth it because they were heavenly! We scarfed those up in less than a minute!

More to come! Keep reading!

Drugstore Review ~ Wet Brush

Hey everyone!

Today I'm SUPER excited to share with you guys my absolute favorite hair product of this season!  With all of this pool and beach weather lately, there's no doubt that many of you have decided to take a quick swim and have fun.  However, when I come out of the pool I always find that my hair has numerous tangles and knots that are unattractive for post-beach activities and hard to get out with a regular brush due to all of the pulling.  My wet hair always seems to tangle a brush in the hair since it easily tangles.  This new brush is the ultimate solution to combating those hair problems any time of the year!

NYC Bound~ Eve's Fashion Haul

Hello everyone! You guys have no idea how excited I am to post this!! This past weekend, Kaylie and I went to NYC and of course, did some shopping!! We spent a lot of our time watching Broadway shows and eating authentic NYC food, but we hit up H and M, Forever 21, Strawberry, Victoria's Secret, Inglot, Sephora, Walgreens, Duane Reade and CVS. We couldn't pass up all these beautiful stores!

We did most of our damage at Forever 21, obviously! The store in Times Square is better than my wildest dreams! It has all the clothes you could possibly imagine and has these gorgeous sections that look like little boutiques inside the store! There are sections of romantic clothing, edgy clothing, casual clothing, workout clothes, skincare and makeup, shoes, accessories... basically the entire online store right in front of you!

First, we went to H and M and we were shocked to see that they were having a HUGE sale! There was SO much gorgeous stuff but, as per usual, H and M clothing does not fit me that well, so I walked out with two things, not too shabby.

I purchased this cheetah romper for $10 thinking that I could style it, but after really trying it on and seeing how it looked, I think this is something that will stay on the hanger. Do you agree?

We can get up close and personal if you click read more!

NYC Bound~ Eve's Beauty Haul

Welcome to Part 2 of my NYC damage! I couldn't fit all my fashion and beauty purchases in one haul so I decided to break it up into twice the fun! Although I went to Inglot, Sephora, Duane Reade and CVS, I only purchased makeup from CVS and surprisingly enough, purchased some skincare items from Forever 21!

In Forever 21, I could've done some serious damage in the skincare section, but I restrained myself and limited myself to face masks. You should've seen me in the store! I was walking around with 10 or more face masks, nose pore strips, eyeshadows, nail polishes... it was crazy! I've been interested in trying out some asian beauty products and I saw that these face masks were made in Korea! I haven't seen these at my store an I decided to get 1 of each kind just to try it out. I will order more online if I really like them! Reviews are on the way!

The glitter and sparkles await you!

WorkoutWednesday ~ Healthy Ice Cream

Hey girls! Sorry for the delays in my posts! Today is the official start of WorkoutWednesday! Can I get a WOOTWOOT? So how many of your girls love that mid-summer milkshake or sundae? I know you all have your hands up, well, I am sure a guilty culprit of ice cream, but I found a healthy alternative to the Haagen Dazs, Coldstone, Ben and Jerry's, Baskin Robbins or whatever ice cream you prefer, because this one will HELP you get your summer bikini bod!

Drugstore Review~ Eyelash Curler Comparison

Welcome back girls! I have my first review for you guys today! Summer is settling in and I have been going to the pool and lake A LOT. Too often... But even though I love my eyeliner, mascara does not budge in the water and it still defines the eye. I've found a curler that gives me those fluttery lashes!

Kaylie has slowly made me into a mascara girl, and my fail of eyelashes don't cooperate unless I curl my eyelashes. I've been testing out these two curlers recently and the both have their ups and downs, but in the long run, one performs superiorly to the other.

NYC Bound ~ What's in my travel beauty bag?

Hey beauties!

Today I have an exciting post to share with you guys!  Eve and I are heading off to the Big Apple tomorrow and can't wait to go!  We'll definitely do some good sight seeing, eating, and of COURSE shopping.  I can't wait to share our future hauls as we should have a ton to share with you guys since NYC is one of the shopping capitals of the world.

Today I'm super excited to be showing you my travel beauty bag!  I picked up this bag from Marshall's recently for around $12.00.  It was an amazing deal considering how much I can store!  I absolutely love this bag for travel as it can fit a ton, but can fold to take up minimal room in my suitcase.

Summer Sun Tag!

Hey girls! Welcome back! As you can see from the title, this is going to be my first tag! I've been watching these on YouTube and I am beyond excited to share some products with you! I have been going back to these products repetitively and had such a fun time putting this together for all of you! These are the products that I LOVE for the season of summer, but I will also have my June favorites up  to show the products I've purchased that I love, or that I've been going back to over and over again in June.

I've been loving the trends that have been taking over this summer! The tousled hair, natural lashes, bare skin, bright shorts, neon nails and laid back-surfer vibe are making a statement! It makes for a simple and comfortable summer. I couldn't ask for more!

Don't miss out! Keep scrolling to see my personal picks!

Drugstore Review ~ Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer in Light

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone is LOVING the summer--I sure am!  Today I have a review on one of my concealers, Hard Candy's Glamoflauge.  With the summer heat I find my skin gets super oily and starts to clog my pores, developing those terrible pimples that we all can't stand.  This concealer is super nice for covering up blackheads and any other imperfections, as it is originally made for concealing tattoos!  How cool is that?

Smooch Proof Products

Hello my loves! Summer has finally begun and we've been spending all our time at the country club and by the lake! I wear minimal makeup in the summer so it's usually mascara, eyeliner and lip balm or gloss. Instead of doing dozens of reviews, I decided to combine everything into a collection post! An overview of my collection!

Protecting your lips from the sun and keeping them hydrated is crucial! Who wants to be kissing a girl with dry, crackly lips?

Lip Treatments/ Lip Balms

My lip treatments and balms are products I use at home; either before going out or right before bed. I use Rosebud Salve on a daily basis just to hydrate my lips at night. I use the Chapstick treatment when the air is especially dry or my lips are dry! The Blistex is used for dire emergencies when my lips are completely burnt or peeling. Don't use it too often though because you don't want to keep applying medicine. The Nivea is used right before I head out the door because the SPF 30 protects throughout the day.

Chapstick Overnight Lip Treatment Skin Protectant Lip Balm, Nivea A Kiss of Protection SPF 30, Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment, and Rosebud Salve (Original)

OOTD ~ Day at the Outlets

Hello Beauties!

Today I'm heading off to the outlets and a dinner so I decided to write up a quick OOTD.  I love this look for the summer because it's light and simple, yet able to be dressed up and worn to a nice dinner.  After the outlets I'm planning on dining with some of my friends at a delicious Italian restaurant just across the street.  This look is comfortable enough to spend a whole day shopping in, but also posh enough to wear to a fancy restaurant.

NOTD~ Rocker Chic Microbeads

Hey girls! Sorry for the delay, but I've been working on a VERY exciting post for you guys! I have been in the market for some caviar nails lately, but I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on a kit from Sephora that would only last a few days... so I ventured down to Michael's to look for some microbeads, but I found something better. SELF ADHESIVE BEADS!! Instead of covering your entire nail with beads, you can arrange them in a design and then top it off with a thick layer of clear coat.

The beads are from Michael's and the brand is Liquid Beadz. I found this container on sale because I was slightly dried out, but there is a large selection of them for around $2.99 US at Michael's, A.C. Moore and other craft stores!

Nail Tutorial ~ Water Marbling Nails

Hey everyone!

Today I was long overdue for a new manicure and thought I'd try something a little different from the standard one note nail.  I love marbling my nails during the summer, especially for a fun day at the beach.  I have this quick tutorial to show you guys how you can achieve the same look!

Things you will Need:

A cold bowl of water

A dotting tool or toothpick  (Make sure you don't mind getting a little dirty!)

Nails painted with some base color/coat
2-3 Nail Polish Colors  (Preferably of contrasting colors to your base color)
From left to right:  Essie Meet Me at Sunset, WNW I Need a Refresh - Mint, Revlon Buttercip
A roll of tape  (Scotch will work perfectly!)

Deceiving Dupes~ Sephora Harmony Trio Bronzer in Apricot and Wet n Wild Mega Glo Illuminizing Power in Stike a Pose Rose

Hey girlies! I have my first makeup post today! I have a dupe video for one of my favorite highlighters! This is the perfect time to break out those highlights and add some shine to your face! They're all the buzz for the summer and I've seen that lots of brand at Sephora have been putting out new highlighters for the summer! Jump on the bandwagon! Keep reading!

My favorite for the past few months has been the Sephora Harmony Trio Bronzer in Apricot, the shade all the way to the left is the one I use. However, I found out that it was being discontinued and I can't seem to find it anymore! I've been trying to use it sparingly, but I found a perfect match for it  by Wet n Wild. One of my favorite brands if you can't tell already! This is the Mega Glo Illuminating Powder in Strike a Pose Rose- yet again, the shade all the way to the left.

Deceiving Dupes ~ Essie Super Bossa Nova vs Wet n Wild Frosted Fuchsia

Hello beauties!

Last summer, Essie came out with this gorgeous shade that I just had to get my hands on called, Super Bossa Nova.  It is a vibrant pink with blue reflects when the light hits.  I absolutely love wearing this shade to the beach with a tan or to a summer party.  This collection was limited edition though and now this shade is terribly hard to find.  Not to mention, I payed the full price at $9.00 for the bottle!  However, I found an amazing dupe that is easily accessible at the drug store for a fraction of the price.

Eyeliner Collection!

Hello my lovelies!! As I promised, I will have collection posts coming, and to kick them of... drumroll please... EYELINERS! I'm definitely and eyeliner girl. Most girls say they feel the most refreshed with mascara on, but I think a swipe of eyeliner is a complete look! I do a lot of research before buying my products, although they are inexpensive, so these are definitely my favorites!

Pencil Eyeliners-

The Wet n Wild eyeliners are definitely some of my favorites! They're dirt cheap at $0.99 US at the drugstore and there are sales all the time! I was skeptical about them first because since when can 99 cents buy you quality good? But I've learnt not to judge a book by it's cover! Keep your eye out to get the most bang for your buck! Put the colorful eyeliner on my water line for a pop of color as well as the white to open up my eyes, and the black goes on my tightline and smudged into my lashes to give them a full, defined look! These can be found at any drugstore or makeup supply store.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeliners in Amethyst, Sky Blue, Olive, White and Black Black

Summer Jewelry!

Summer is one of my favorite seasons for jewelry!  There are so many fun events and places to show off your favorite pieces.  Jewelry is one of my favorite things to dress up an outfit.  However, I still love a few casual pieces to accompany an outfit for the beach or a shopping trip.

I absolutely ADORE my Michael Kors watch in rose gold.  It's a staple piece in my wardrobe that literally matches with everything!  I love how I can wear this with a really fancy dress to a dinner or with a t-shirt and jean shorts for a more casual look.  For a less expensive option but the same look, Fossil makes watches that look very similar and are lighter on the wrist.

StyleSunday~ Summer Dresses!

Hey everyone! Welcome to StyleSunday!! I'm so happy to be debuting our weekly tips, tricks and ideas on the how tos of fashion! This week is going to be styling versatile summer outfits! I'm going to be styling 3 summer dresses around the same jewelry! Hope you enjoy!

Jewelry- I went for an eclectic, laid back look for my jewelry. No necklaces. Just bracelets and rings. I kept 2 simple bracelets on. The pink of the evil eye bracelet brings out the pink in the braided bracelets and gives it a casual by sophisticated look. The owl ring keeps things glam but quirky. It also has a stretchy band so anyone could wear it!

Braided bracelet- Forever 21

On the other hand, I kept it simple with 2 chunky rings, no bracelets so they wouldn't be fighting for attention. The thumb ring also has a stretchy band so it can be worn on any finger!

Drugstore Review ~ NYC Matte Me Crazy Top Coat

Oh my goodness, how CUTE is the name of this top coat!  When I first heard about this product I thought it was too good to be true.  I can't think of any matte top coats in the drugstore at the top of my mind.  I absolutely adore the matte look for the summer.  I think it's chic and sophisticated, yet can easily be worn out on a casual beach day.  A matte top coat can easily transform a nail polish into a completely different look, practically doubling the amount of polish you have!  Not to mention, this NYC polish comes with an amazing price tag!

OOTD~ Lunch with the Girls!

Hey everyone! Yesterday was officially the start of my summer and the girls and I decided to go out to the country club to get a bite!

This dress is the Urban Outfitters Coincidence and Chance Revel Dress. It's one of my favorite buys for the summer and it's on sale right now! http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=23395015 It's perfect for a hot summer day! It's lightweight, the perfect length and super cute! I paired it with a belt from a local boutique that has some floral detailing in it. It brings out the lace detailing in the dress and totally completes the earthy, natural look!

Belt- Local Boutique

Check out my arm candy for the day! I decided to glam up the dress a little with some sparkly arm candy! Pearls add class to any outfit, and who wouldn't want to wear a crystal tennis bracelet to a country club on a nice afternoon? And to top it all off... this adorable bangle set from Claire's! Who said inexpensive jewelry couldn't be fashionable! You just have to keep your eyes out at stores like Claire's, Forever 21, H&M, Charlotte Russe and WetSeal! You're definitely going to find something!

Bangles- Icing by Claire's

To bring the look together, I wore a pair of Steve Madden wedges. These wedges bring together the whole outfit, tying in the brown belt and finishing off the rustic, boho glam look I was going for. They're not too casual for the country club and they give me a little boost. The 2 inch wedge is comfortable and practical! This is definitely another one of my favorite summer buys! I purchased them fro TJMaxx for $39.99 US, and they're sold at DSW online, although they're currently out of stock! If you want the shoes... keep checking! http://www.dsw.com/shoe/sm+women's+shelbi+wedge+sandal?prodId=216503 I'm sure you can find a pair of similar shoes anywhere! A pair of staple brown wedges are necessary in a girl's closet!

Steve Madden Shelbi Wedge- TJMaxx

This outfit is one of my favorites for the upcoming season! It has a soft, natural, effortless look with a touch of elegance! Definitely going to be one of my staple outfits, how about you? Mini-Haul ~ Sephora

Yesterday I went to the mall for a little retail-therapy.  When I hit Sephora I just HAD to check out the sale section.  I found some great deals and products for the summer.

Sephora Highlighting Compact Illuminator Powder in Rose Pink

Original price:  $15.00
Sale price:  $5.00
This is a great highlighter for the summer!  It has just the right amount of shimmer and is slightly pink toned.  However, when swatched it looks more like a white shimmer versus a pink.  I love to put it above my cheekbones and on the bridge of my nose for a perfect glow.

Drugstore Review/Swatch ~Physician Formula's Mineral Wear Blush in Rosy Glow

Hey everyone!  A while back I was wandering the drugstores to find a quick blush to pick up on vacation.  I have completely fallen in love and  have used this blush ever since.  I can't explain how AMAZING this product is!  Too often I buy blushes and find them either too shimmery, too unnatural looking, too chalky, or too hard to blend.  Luckily, this blush doesn't have any of that.  This is my go to everyday blush.  It gives a very natural looking glow and is easy to work with.

HAUL~ Marshall's and Nordstrom Rack

Hey everyone! I'm sure you can tell by the title that I've been doing some shopping... a little too much at that. I ventured down to my local Marshall's and Nordstrom Rack and made a few purchases. I probably already have way too much clothing and too many pairs of shoes to count, but they were too good to pass up.

Marshall's

I spent hours in Marshall's trying on clothes... but I walked out with only 2 things. Two of the same things... (teehee). They are in different colors though! The brand on both is kirra. The kirra that is sold at Pacsun, but it was discounted as Marshall's! YAY!

They were priced at $7.99 US each. With a compare at of $12.00. But  knowing the pricing at Pacsun, it was probably more expensive there. At least that's what I want to tell myself! YAY for good deals!

I took some pictures of some other cute things I saw.... Check out these sunglasses!
Classy eh?? But soo cute! They kinda have a retro vibe and bring back good memories too! They were both $6.00 US on sale! Even though they're super cute, I had to pass them up because they weren't the most practical choices.

Nordstrom Rack

I had limited time at Nordstrom Rack, but I went there with a goal in mind. TO FIND SPERRY'S. I've been on the hunt for Sperry's for years, but this year, I was determined to buy a pair. In the past I've purchased them, but after sitting around in my closet for a few weeks, they went back to the store. I found the cutest pair! Although there was some tough competition for which pair was coming home with me.

A few months ago, I saw this pair of glitter Sperry's at Nordstrom Rack, however, they weren't very practical, they were not the best quality and they were a bit loose. Keep in mind I wear a kids size 3 or and adult size 5. It's quite hard for me to find a pair of shoes.

They were a kids size four... :( Me and my pitiful feet. Well, I had more luck today.

There was some stiff competition today. There were 2 pairs of shoes in my size. The Silver Glitter Junior in the kids size 3 and the Aqua Biscayne 1-eye in a kids size 3 as well.

I ended up getting the blue ones because I liked the fit of the smaller front on my tiny foot and it was more summery. The blue Sperry's were $23.97 US compared to $34.95 and the silver glitter Sperry's were $29.97 compared to $54.95. P.S. the quality of the glitter and metallic kids shoes are not the best even though they are beyond adorable.

cayuteeeee

There are more exciting sneak peeks to come from these shopping trips! Stay tuned for more! Save you from a fashion disaster today? Leave your rescue story, questions, comments and requests in the comment section below. Stay beautiful!
