Look for Less ~ Wildfox Heart Jumper

Hey girls!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  Today I have an exciting find to share with you guys.  For a while now I've been eyeing the Wildfox heart jumper that a lot of celebrities have been sporting like  Taylor Swift, Miranda Cosgrove, and Jennifer Lopez!  It's this super cute baggy sweater with an adorable heart in the middle!  While it looks super cute and comfty, I just can't shell out the $100 to spend on one sweater.  However, when I was browsing Forever 21 as usual, I came across a really similar one that is so adorable!  However, I'm thinking about exchanging it for a size larger than usual so I could get that same baggy effect from the Wildfox jumpers.

MFBB (My Face But Better) ~ Natural Drugstore Products

Happy Thursday girls!

Whenever I go out and get products, 75% of the time I want something that will look extremely natural and will enhance versus cover my features.  As a result, I'm obsessed with finding some good MFBB products.  To qualify as one, a product has to have zero glitter and shimmer and should be a similar color to the feature you are enhancing.  It should really only perfect instead of add a radical new color.  These products are for a look that appears that you have no makeup on, yet you just look...better.  With that being said, let's get started!

WorkoutWednesday~ Summer Outfits

Hello girls! Welcome back to Workout Wednesday! I have a styling post for you, but instead of the usual fashion inspired outfits, I'm doing workout outfits! I know most people might not think of it this way, but there has to be so much versatility when wearing clothes to work out, because there are infinitely many ways and places to work out! Summer's been flying by, and I cam making it my goal to workout everyday!

1. This is for the girl who prefers the cold and loves adventures! I've spent a good amount of time at the lake this summer, and it gets really windy during the day, and the temperature changes and surreal! You're freezing 1 minute and sweating the next!  A long sleeved shirt and leggings are perfect! This is my go-to outfit for kayaking in the lake, so I don't get swet, or to run at night, or to even hike in the woods! No bugs will be bite through all these layers! And if it gets too hot, a sports bra and leggings are classic and adorbs!

Sports Bra- Target
Shirt- Forever 21
Leggings- Forever 21

Trend to Try ~ High Low Skirts

Hey lovelies!

Today I have a fun post to share with you guys.  During the summer high-low skirts have really made a huge appearance!  I love them because they are so feminine and flirty and can be dressed in tons of different ways.  For this post I decided to dress a high-low skirt in different ways so you guys could get some inspiration as to what to pair with a skirt like this.  I was so ecstatic when I found this skirt at Forever 21 for $19.80!  It may seem like a lot, but high-low skirts can usually cost way more so this was a total steal, considering the number of looks I can get out of it!

Quick Beauty Tip ~ Makeup Remover that Won't Break the Bank

Hey beauties!

Today I'm going to be talking about an amazing find for all of you makeup-lovers who want a fool proof makeup remover for a fraction of the cost of using wipes.  Many people use makeup wipes to take off stubborn waterproof mascara and eyeliner that just won't budge even in the shower.  While I used to depend on those a lot, I realized they started stinging my eyes, leaving my skin dry, and running out in a quick period of time.  Neutrogena wipes can cost around $5-8 on a pack of 25 which adds up quicker than you'd think!  A pack can only really last a little less than a month, not to mention many dry out.

My solution?

Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser.  Doing lots of theater productions for my school, I found that this was the most efficient and effective way to take off my makeup, especially during quick changes!  Retailing at about $4.70, this jar will last at least a year and really works!  With one swipe this stuff can take off any 24 hour, waterproof, will-stay-on-your-face-forever type of stuff.  It sounds sort of foreign, but I can actually find it in any drugstore I go to as well as Target and Wal-Mart!  Make sure to get the COLD CREAM versus the one labeled makeup remover.  I find that I prefer this one because it smells better and doesn't sting your eyes!

DIY ~ Tinted Moisturizer

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I have a fun DIY to share with you guys.  Foundation is one of the things that is a must-wear for me to cover up imperfections and even out coloring in my skin.  However, in the hot summer it can be a pain to have a foundation layered on your face because it can feel cakey and heavy under the warm sun.  The solution?  Tinted moisturizer.  While I love a good tinted moisturizer, sometimes it's just not ideal.  A lot of people don't have the budget to spend on both a good foundation and tinted moisturizer.  When I went traveling last week, I forgot my tinted moisturizer and came up with a quick and easy solution for a wonderful tinted moisturizer!

Drugstore Review ~ NYC Sun 'n Bronze Powder in Sunsational

Hey beauties!

Today I'm going to be talking about an exciting beauty find that I just picked up last week!  I'm SO happy with the results of it!  I was a bit skeptical at first because it's so new that there are hardly any reviews on it so I went off of an impulse purchase.  Not to mention that the other shades of the Sun 'n Bronze powders don't have the greatest reviews.  I've been on the hunt for the PERFECT highlighter.  In my book, my holy grail highlighter would have to give a natural luminosity and dewiness without any shimmer or glitter.  I have heard that the NYX mosaic powder in Highlighter meets this criteria, but it's been so hard to get my hands on that I decided to go on another search.  While this powder is labeled a bronzing powder, I can't imagine anyone being able to pull this shade off as a bronzer.  On the bright side, it makes an AMAZING highlighter for most skin tones!

Haul~ Target and Rite Aid

Hello girlies! Summer's going by way too fast! Do you agree? I'm trying to do everything on m bucket list! How's your summer bucket list? Comment below if you want a summer bucket list post!

As you might've seen from Kaylie's recent haul, there was an amazing deal on NYC at Rite Aid this week, so I picked up some products, and I also stopped by Target! I always try new products when they're 40% off at Rite Aid because I don't feel so guilty about picking up multiple products, plus, if worse comes to worst, Rite Aid allows returns of used products. P.S. Kaylie has a lot of this stuff, I'm trying it out.

Target

First, from Target I picked up the ELF powder brush!! I've used Kaylie's before and I knew immediately that I was going to get it!! It's one of those must have products!

Quick Beauty Tip ~ Starbucks Napkins = Blotting Papers?

Hey girls!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day!  Today I have a super quick tip to share with you girls on-the-go that want to save a little money.  During the summer I find my face gets the most oily which can clog pores and cause lots of unsightly pimples to start popping up.  Sometimes blotting papers can add up on your bill and so I've been looking for a cheaper alternative to the $10 packs that you can buy at Sephora.

Tag Tuesday~ $50 Outfit Challenge- Graphic Tees

Welcome back girlies! I'm sorry I've been gone for a while but we have had some huge plans for you guys! Stay tuned for contests, giveaways and some new series we're starting! P.S. Don't forget to enter our giveaway!

  2. You do not have to use full priced items. They can be bought on sale or at discount store
Everything else is free for you to choose! The theme, the purpose (Where are you going in this outfit? Is it going to be multipurpose?)

Today, I'm going to do an outfit that it perfect for a day out with your friends. It's super casual and very daring!

Products I Regret Buying

Hey everyone!

Today I was looking through my makeup collection and remembered a stash I have cumulated over time just to make this post.  While I always do reviews on products I'm about to buy, sometimes I make impulse purchases that take a wrong turn.  Other times the product has great reviews, but it just doesn't work out for me.  Please keep in mind that although these products didn't work out for me, that doesn't mean they won't necessarily work out for you.

With that in mind, let's get started!

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

While I've heard a lot of good things about the Burt's Bee's line, this product was just not very good.  I picked this up at Whole Foods for around $3 and only used it a couple of times before I set on another quest to find a good lip balm.  The smell is a little funny, but after a while it is tolerable.  However, the product was almost too waxy to the point where it just coated your lips, but did nothing more.  It sort of just sat there...  I totally prefer my Smith's Rosebud Salve since it has a great scent and actually takes off the dry skin on your lips!

More products after the jump!

Nail Tutorial ~ Half Moon Mani

Hey everyone!

Today I have a cool manicure to share with you guys!  It's one of my favorites since it's so unique, yet super simple.  It's sort of like french tips with a twist and is just a stunner to look at.  I love this look for the summer, especially if you can coordinate your colors with your swimsuit!  A fun idea might be to invert the colors on your toes so they match, but in a more subtle way.

Eve's July 2012 Wishlist

Heyhey girlies! How are you this fine young day? Tell me if you guys want more of these! I love making them and it's a little different than the pictures I take myself!

Check out all the products on Polyvore!

Tag Tuesday ~ $20 Makeup Challenge

Hey lovelies!

Today, I have a really fun tag that I've been dying to do that's been floating around Youtube for a while.  If you are not familiar with this tag, it's basically a challenge to do a full face of makeup with only $20.  I think the $20 Makeup Challenge is super fun because we all get to see affordable products that really work!  All of my products you can find in the drugstore or Walmart, Ulta, and Target.  Not to mention, most of these products I have purchased for even cheaper than their price tag with 40% off and BOGO1/2 sales!

DIY ~ Sugar Lip Scrubs

Happy Monday Beauties!

Today I have a fun DIY project for you guys to try out.  With all of the hot, dry weather my lips have become extremely chapped and sometimes even my favorite lip balm can't fully restore my lips.  When my lips become really flaky I know it's time to go to the next step and use a sugar scrub.  While I'm not one to make my own eyeshadow and lip gloss on a regular basis, lip scrubs are one of those things that I feel can be easily and cheaply made without going to Ulta or the Body Shop.  I've seen lip scrubs range from $8-25 which just seems ridiculous if you can make it at home with the same exact ingredients for a fraction of the price.

Nail Tutorial~ Pink and Red Color-Blocking!

Hey girlies! How are we all doing today? I decided to try out some color blocking on my nails! I've seen it on youtube and on celebrities already, but I've never had the chance to test it out myself, and must I say I'm OBSESSED! I prefer this over paint 3 nails one color and the other 2 another because I think that just gets confusing... but that might just be me. I love the look of the pink and red because in some lights it can look all red or all pink because of the close contrast. Also, the work the twice as many outfits!

All you'll need is 2 nail polishes and 10 pieces of tape!

Look for Less ~ Urban Outfitters Coincidence & Chance Revel Dress

Hey girls!

Today I have an exciting "Looks for Less" post.  I love finding clothes that look identical to an expensive counterpart but for a fraction of the cost.  One of my favorite clothing stores is Urban Outfitters because of the gorgeous hispter style clothes they sell.  However, the prices can be absolutely absurd so I try to find dupes for some pieces with a nicer price tag.

Tutorial~ Makeup Brush Cleansing

Heyhey girlies! How was your day? I'm at home all ready to blog and I have a VERY important post for all you makeup collectors out there! We all love putting on makeup and giving ourselves that extra little boost, but we want our skin to feel good! I think I hear your skin crying! Have you been washing your brushes lately? Germs and bacteria build up in those things faster than skyscrapers in New York City! You need to make a brush cleaning schedule; wash your eye brushes every week and face brushes every 1-2 weeks. Your skill will be thanking you!

What you'll need:

1. Some dirty makeup brushes! You'll need to give them a good wash if you've been changing colors with your brushes, been using them for over a week, or there's too much product in your brush.

Summer Face Routine!

Heyhey girlies! How are you this fine summer day? Sorry southern hemisphere :( As the heat is steaming up, I find my makeup melting off my face! I'm not one of those girls who wears makeup in the pool, but I do enhance my features and matten my face because it gets SUPER oily in the summer. You could probably fry an egg on my forehead! It is NOT pleasant!

My summer face routine is very simple, and natural, I just enhance my cheekbones, eyes and conceal  some circles and zits! That's it!

Step 1: First, I take a little drop, just slightly bigger than the size of a pin head usually. The majority if used for my under-eyes, and the rest I use on the imperfections of my face. To blend it all out, I use this fluffy brush from Ecotools. It is an eye blending brush, but I find this is a much more efficient use for the summer! It's from the $10 travel brush kit, and I got it on a BOGO free! It's a bargain little duo and they work like a dream! It feels super lightweight and is heavy duty! Plus the blending press won't force excess makeup on your skin so it doesn't settle in fine lines!

The rest awaits you!

Travel Tips Thursday ~ Makeup Essentials for the Beach

Happy Thursday everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!  My day was full of eating, swimming, walking the dog, and just spending time with some family and friends.  The house I visited happened to be right across the beach so we all had a great time in the water and relaxing in the sun.  Although I don't like wearing too much makeup when I go to the beach, there are some essentials that I always take.

WorkoutWednesday~ I'm Getting Naked!

Hello my lovelies!! I hope you girlies had the loveliest FOURTH OF JULY!! Cue the fireworks!! More importantly... it's WorkoutWednesday!! All hail those flat tummies and toned legs! I'm still working on getting that perfect bikini body!! Oh how I envy those girls with abs and stick thin legs! If only, if only... anyways, I've been working out... doing some cardio, some ab exercises, some arm and leg excercises... but half the hike is what you eat!

I eat a healthy diet, more or less, I can't resist the occasional Lindt truffle! (shhhh!), but to supplement myself with my vitamins and fruits and veggies, I've been adding Naked juice into the mix. I know it's expensive, but it's definitely worth it! I drink this instead of other vitamin supplements because it's more natural and all in all, better for the body!

Mighty Mango is hands down my FAVORITE flavor, and I believe I have tried almost all of them! The thing I love about these is that the mango taste still pops... so the name isn't deceiving... but there's still more fruit!

Eve's Lookbook~ Affordable Fourth of July Outfits

Hello everyone! How are you this FABULOUS third of july.... in T- minus 5 hours... depending on when this post goes up, it will be the 4th of July!! WOOTWOOT I have to say, this is one of my favorite holidays! Not only do I get to eat nonstop for 24 hours at my family barbecue, I can also go to my friends' barbecues and have some tasting too. Let's just say I'm a food enthusiast. I'm definitely going to be running around, sitting on the grass, eating LOTS of food and watching fireworks!

My two outfits, although very similar, a basic tank top and shorts, meet my list of requirements. They're easy to move around in and the top stretches so if I eat a little too much, I won't be suffocating. I might even have to loosen up the belt too! ...woops

My first outfit is a little understated, but still screams 4th of July. Instead of doing blue or white shorts, I chose an acid washed pair to bring in some white and blue while still not screaming LOOK I'M AN AMERICAN FLAG! The red tank is basic and comfortable and the necklace gives it a nautical edge. To cuten up the outfit I added a denim headband with a bow! Almost house on the prairie like! SO CUTE!
Headband: Claire's
Tank top: WetSeal
Belt: American Eagle
Shorts: Delia's

Kaylie's Lookbook ~ 4th of July

Hey everyone!!

I'm super excited for tomorrow because it's the 4th of July!  For all of you readers that live in the states, tomorrow is one of the best times of the summer.  It's a great way to wind down and enjoy a nice barbecue and fireworks with family and friends to welcome the summer.  I love dressing for the occasion, and the 4th of July is one of the most fun to coordinate your outfit for.  Since the holiday lands in the peak time of the summer, dressing smart is essential for comfort.  I love to wear breathable clothing without much jewelry since outdoor activities can become really sweaty outside.  Also, it is essential that the clothing be easy to run around in since there are always water fights and volleyball matches nearby.

Outfit #1

I love this outfit for a more fancy event, although it can easily be worn to casual outings too.  It is super cute and trend, as well as easy to wear since it doesn't involve many components.

Nail Tutorial ~ Jelly Sandwiches

Dear American Apparel,

OMG I cannot thank you enough for releasing the new "Sheer" nail polish collection for the summer.  You have seriously made my whole summer because of these wonderful new nail polishes.  I was on the market for a jelly polish that I could layer glitter in between and now I think I have found my new love.  Not only does your polish have the perfect amount of sheerness to it so that the glitter can peak through, the pigmentation is also just out of this world.  I can't wait to go back to the Mall and purchase more so I can do some ombre nails next.

Lots of love,
Kaylie

Hey girls!

Haha today I have a super fun nail tutorial to share with you guys.  A jelly nail sandwich is dare I say it, even yummier than the real thing.  This is a super simple look that just involves sandwiching a layer of glitter in between two coats of polish.  It gives a cool 3-D look to the glitter, as if it's floating in the polish.  This look cannot be achieved with any old polish.  It takes a polish of a sheer and jelly nature to make it successful.

I have been waiting forever to be able to test out this look since I've been having a hard time finding the right jelly polish for a reasonable price.  There are some scattered Essie's that I know have a sheer finish, but I find it hard to make myself purchase them for $8 each.  I have heard that Revlon's "Sheer Seafoam" is a jelly-like polish but it lacks the serious pigmentation I want in a polish.  When I thought all hopes were lost, I found myself wandering American Apparel to just browse and my eyes instantly met the new "Sheer" polishes.  I didn't believe it was possible, and yet there it was.  I used the tester and absolutely fell in love with the finish and immediately thought of some jelly nail sandwiches!  Without blinking an eye I picked up a super pretty coral color for only $5 called "Manhattan Beach" just to try and now that I'm completely in love, I'll definitely be going back to pick up her sisters.  Sigh...  it is possible to be so in love with an inanimate object?
