Tag Tuesday ~ $20 Makeup Challenge

Hey lovelies!

Today, I have a really fun tag that I've been dying to do that's been floating around Youtube for a while.  If you are not familiar with this tag, it's basically a challenge to do a full face of makeup with only $20.  I think the $20 Makeup Challenge is super fun because we all get to see affordable products that really work!  All of my products you can find in the drugstore or Walmart, Ulta, and Target.  Not to mention, most of these products I have purchased for even cheaper than their price tag with 40% off and BOGO1/2 sales!

Let's get started!

Foundation-

Fully blended
To start off, I think a good foundation is essential.  While other products can be easily be replaced with cheaper versions, foundation is one of those things where I cannot skimp on, since I'm yet to find a $2 foundation that suits all my needs.  One of my favorite foundations on the less expensive side is the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 103 True Ivory.  It gives great coverage and even leaves a hint of a dewy look to it for a more natural appearance.  Plus, its staying power is great and can last me at least 8 hours, if not more.  Since this can be layered for even more coverage, this foundation takes the place of needing a concealer since I find it covers most blemishes and dark circles on its own.  For this challenge, I can apply it with my fingers easily since it is so easily blendable

Blush, Eyeshadow, Highlight-

One of my favorite beauty cheats is the Wet n Wild Mega Glo Illuminating Powder in 346 Strike-A-Pose-Rose.  It's a quad that's absolutely perfect for this challenge because of how many different uses you can get from the one palette.

For the blush, I find that mixing the two center pink colors gives off the best color and pigmentation.  It results in this matte berry-rose color that can be easily blended onto the cheek bones with your fingers.  It gives a great natural, everyday look.

For the eyeshadow I especially like the two outermost colors.  They are super gorgeous shades with a pearly sheen that looks amazing on eyes of any color.  I'd first take the lighter shade on the left and go all over the lid and in the inner corner to brighten the eyes.  Then I'd take the darker champagne shade and sweep it across the outer half of the lid and blend it with my fingers so that there is no harsh mark between the two colors.

For a highlight, I would take that lighter shade again on the far left and highlight my nose bridge, above my cheekbones, and under my eye brows for a glowing effect.

Eyeliner, Brow Filler-

The first time I tried it, I was so pleasantly surprised with the Wet n Wild Color Icon Pencil Eyeliner in Black.  It has just amazing pigmentation for the price and applies so smoothly so that you don't have to press too hard.  I would use this to line my upper and lower water line and to create a thin line on the upper lash line.  Since this is an everyday summer look, I don't want anything too harsh or dramatic.

Also, this pencil is great because it can double up and be used to fill in your brows!  It looks natural if you take light, small strokes to fill them in.

Mascara-

One of my must-haves for any face routine is mascara.  it truly opens up your eyes and really defines the whole face.  Usually I find that good mascara can be really expensive, and the cheaper ones clump and are just bad quality.  However, I have recently fallen in love with the new NYC Big Bold Ultra Volumizng mascara.  I have to say I am so pleasantly surprise with this mascara.  For anyone looking for a great mascara without the big price tag, I would say definitely check this one out because I love it!  it gives great volume and length without clumping.  While the huge plastic wand may be daunting, it is easy to get used to.

     Price:  $4.99

Lipstick-

For lips I decided to go relatively simple and use the Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in 516C.  This is a beautiful coral color for the summer and is a great accent for the whole face.  In addition, gloss isn't even needed since it has a shine on its own!  For the price, these are some of my favorite lipsticks since they apply smoothly and have great pigmentation.

     Price:  $0.99

Final Total:  $18.25

I hope you girls enjoyed this challenge!  I tag all of you to do this!  What are your favorite bargain products?  Leave a comment down below!
